Today, she sells rice wholesale. "I started with the 120,000 CFA francs I saved at the end of the project to set up my business. Today, my business is worth more than 500,000 CFA francs," she told us. According to African Press Organization, just a few streets away, Gaoussou's garage tells another story of perseverance. This passionate mechanic lacked the financial resources to modernize his workshop and expand his business. The Income-Generating Activities (IGA) fund from the Youth Employment Agenc y provided the solution he was looking for. "I didn't have the resources to work properly. This funding allowed me to develop my business, and today I can repay my loan without difficulty," he said. From the THIMO project to activity funding, the Youth Employment Agency thus provides answers to the realities of each path, placing youth at the heart of the development of Ivory Coast. This local dynamic is part of a broader national movement. According to the indicators of the Government Youth Programme (PJGOUV) 2024, the actions carried out have directly impacted 1.6 million young people, built or rehabilitated 123 training structures and youth infrastructure, and raised awareness among 4.7 million young people about social ills.
