Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ The Paul Akoto Yao modern high school in Sakassou still does not have 1st C and Tle C classes

The Paul Akoto Yao modern high school in Sakassou, the only public secondary school in the department of Sakassou, still does not have 1ère C and Terminale C classes despite pleas from parents. and local executives with the competent authorities at each start of the school year.

The first person in charge of this secondary establishment, Berté Dramane, evokes the reason for the insufficiency of science teachers to justify this situation which the parents of pupils continue to deplore, in particular those whose wish is to see their children make scientific studies. Some of the latter go so far as to request a transfer for their children to other schools which have these two scientific classes.

Formerly a scientific high school then a high school of excellence, the modern Paul Akoto Yao high school in Sakassou began a descent into hell with the crisis of September 2002. The looting of teaching materials and the destruction of laboratories and specialized rooms caused this establishment to lose its former glory.

Its reopening in 2004 after these numerous lootings and destructions will naturally be done without 1st C and Tle C classes. Eighteen years have passed without this secondary establishment of excellence finding its mark, especially in scientific subjects. The declaration of the principal Berté Dramane according to which 11 pupils likely to be registered in 1st C for this school year 2022-2023 find themselves in 1st D only confirms this fact.
