Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ Agboville Catholic Christians urged to cultivate unity

Agboville, The Catholic faithful of the parish of Saint Augustin d’Agboville, were invited, Sunday, January 23, 2022, to cultivate unity in their entourage, on the occasion of the return to parish pastoral of the Association of Catholic Women (AFEC).

“We have all been baptized in the one Spirit and we form one body with Christ. Therefore, within the church there should be no division. Moreover, we are in the week of Christian unity. And today is the Sunday of unity”, recalled the parish priest Joseph Gnangny, in his homily.

Next Tuesday, January 25, according to the man of God, a mass for Christian unity will be celebrated at Saint Jean-Marie Vianney Cathedral in Agboville. “This large gathering, which will be held at 6:30 p.m., will bring together all the religious denominations of Agboville,” he said.

The priest believed that the problem of some must be that of others and when someone is in joy, in difficulty, or in mourning, it is everyone who should be at his side to support him.

Father Joseph Gnangny invited the Christian faithful, especially women, to place the pastoral year under the sign of unity and solidarity.

“We must avoid advocating division within our families, our communities. Jesus Christ asks us, as Christians, to be united, to be in solidarity, to be together. And, it is at this price that there will be fervor within our communities and in our parish,” he explained.

The theme of the pastoral year 2021-2022 is “Faith-Love-Fervor”.
