Ivory Coast-AIP / A wandering ox injures four people near Oumé

A wandering ox seriously injured, Wednesday June 16, 2021 at around 3 pm, two women and two boys at Scierie Jacob, a locality located seven kilometers from Oumé.

Stampede in all directions, screams, such is the unusual spectacle provoked by the ox which attacked people in the streets of the Scierie Jacob. In this crossover, the animal charged four times, seriously injuring Mmes Bokalo Jeanne and Koné Safiatou, as well as two little boys, Kouassi Kan Hervé and Kagnon Brice. Their life is not in danger, we learned.

Called to the rescue, men equipped in particular with large wood and machetes could not put out of harm’s way to the aggressive beast. It took the intervention of Dicko Djibril, one of the butchers specializing in the slaughter of animals who, using a thick rope, slaughtered the ox from its horns.

At the Scierie Jacob, as in the other localities of the Oumé department, the oxen, sheep and kids are regularly wandering. They even go so far as to destroy meals in yards and often destroy corn, cassava or yam plantations located not far from the villages. This often causes conflicts between the villagers and the herdsmen.
