The populations of Bonoua asked for forgiveness from the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, on the occasion of a ceremony held at Place Amangoua in the presence of the President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, economic and cultural (CESEC), Dr Aka Aouélé, for the painful and tragic events which occurred the day after his speech of August 06, 2020.
“We ignored the advice and recommendations of our customary authorities and our parents, and what was to happen happened with its share of material and human damage”, regretted Victor Naoulé Friday May 28, 2021 on behalf of young people from political parties and of civil society in Bonoua.
He then presented a public apology from the young people to the President of the Republic Alassane Ouattara, to the president of the CESEC and to the parents.
As for Adjé Tchomian Jeannot, he expressed the deep regrets of the king, his whole court and the Ehivet people for these events which shook the city of Bonoua the day after the address of the Head of State to the Nation. In the name of all, he made the promise that such acts will not happen again in the locality.
The deputy of Bonoua, Bongo Elidjé Ekra Joseph, noted that the people of Bonoua are a people of dignity, workers, respectful of institutions and lovers of freedom who only ask to be helped and coached for their development.
Dr Aka Aouélé promised to transmit all these commitments to President Alassane Ouattara, not without inviting the sons of Bonoua to resolutely join the work of peace, development and social cohesion opened by the Ivorian authorities.
Clashes occurred in Bonoua before and after the presidential election of October 31, 2020, it is recalled.
