Kouto Police Commissioner Yao Adou Yao invited motorcyclists to wear helmets during the monthly meeting of the Ethics Advisory Committee (CCE), held at the police station.
For this first step in raising awareness, it was motorcycle dealers and mechanics who were invited. To the merchants, the commissioner suggested that they offer, or even impose, the helmet for the sale of the motorcycle. As for the mechanics, he informed them on Monday May 31, 2021 that they are an essential link in the awareness chain because they are in daily contact with motorcycle users.
The goal of this campaign, which he plans to continue, is to save lives. “We ask you to wear your helmets,” he insisted.
Appreciating the initiative, the president of Kouto traders, Traoré Daouda, pledged to get his peers to join this fight and to support the police.
The Imam of the great mosque of Kouto, Konaté Soualio, urged the population to follow the advice of the commissioner, “because it is actually for us that it benefits”.
The CCE is a framework for exchanges between the police and the populations which holds meetings on all subjects.
